1) Download the App
- Use the links to the left to download the app
- Use the InspectionFire Key/Passcode provided in the email you received after setting up your subscription. If did not receive or see an email please check your spam folder and give us a call at 970-433-4098.
- If using an iPad please request access with the device in portrait mode.
- When you click submit it will send us an email to activate your login. Once activated the forms inside the app will download automatically the next time you open them.
2) Setting Up Company Information
As the Company Admin ONLY (see below if Tech)
- If you are the Admin for your company on the first page of the app you should see a form titled “3.53 Admin Settings”. This is where you will customize the disclaimers and prompts that will be shown to everyone within your company.
- Follow the prompts inside this form and submit when complete.
- Technician Information / Credentials
- Company Information
- Company Specific Options. Originally they will be prefilled with default InspectionFire values. You can choose to use these or customize them as you go.
- Company Disclaimers (these will be shown on the next to last page of the report)
- Company Policies/Language (customize some pre-written prompts and automatic language based on technician selections)
- Privacy Policy
- Terms of Service
- Near the signature line will be a section where you can copy out a Company Identifier. This you will need to give to any technicians that work for your company so that they can put it in on the Technician form shown below. You will need to do the same for yourself now.

3) Setting Up Your Forms
As a Technician (Make sure your Company Admin has completed the 3.53 Admin Settings form prior to completing Technician setup.)
- Fill in your name as you would like it to appear on your reports.
- Fill in your certifications and any other additional information you want to show in your credentials/signature block.
- Copy your company identifier from the 3.53 Admin Settings form if you are the administrator, or get it from your Administrator via text or email if you are not, and paste it into the Master Company Identifier section on the technician form prior to submission. This will assure your device uses any custom language you create and specific company information.
- This will push your information into our database and make the appropriate connections. Because the forms are designed to operate without internet everything becomes native to your device. After pushing up into our system roughly every 5 minutes new information will sync back down into your device and a bar will pop up when you enter a form at the top asking if you want to sync resource data. Click yes.
4) Whitelist InspectionFire Emails
- White list or add a filter to assure emails from the following emails always go to your inbox, 1) noreply@inspectionfire.com and 2) info@inspectionfire.com
- Add both emails listed above to your contacts manager within your email program. This is especially important with Gmail accounts. If you only create filters but do not add our emails to your contacts some may continue to be filtered out to your spam folder.
- This assures that you receive the reports you submit
5) Verify App Settings
- From the main page of the app select the gear icon at the top left of the screen.
- Turn on “Enable detailed Logging”
- Change the “Days Submissions Stored” setting to at least 90 days. At The Chimney Doctor Ltd they set theirs at 365. 7 days is standard when the app loads. This sets how long you can access prior submissions before they are dropped from your device to save space.
- Turn on “Save Images in Gallery”. This will assure that any pictures you take within the app will be saved to your camera roll on your phone or tablet as well..

6) Verify Phone Settings
*Please note that depending on your device and the version active on your phone your settings may vary from what is shown here. Screenshots come from an iPhone running iOS version 16.3.*
- Open your device settings and search for the InspectionFire app. Click into settings for the app itself.
- Toggle on “Background App Refresh” and “Cellular Data” if you would like it the app to upload submissions using cellular data. Otherwise submissions will only upload and process when you are connected to WIFI.
- You will generally need to have the app open for submissions to start uploading.
- Open “Location” and select “While using the app” and turn on “Precise Location”. This captures location data when you create a new form (on site with the customer) and again on the section of the form when the customer signs the form. This could be used if needed to prove in a court of law where you were when you performed your inspection.
- Now on to “Photos”. Select it from the prior page. This is perhaps the most important setting as it will allow you to access your entire camera roll from inside the app. Make sure it is set to “All Photos”.
- If there are any “permissions” settings in your phone or tablet make sure that InspectionFire has access to storage, camera, and location when in use.’
7) Verify Information in v3.51 Inspection Form
- Now open the 3.51 Chimney Service / Inspection Form and verify that your company and technician info have loaded into the top two sections in the form.
- As mentioned previously information pushed up from 3.52 Technician Information and 3.53 Admin Settings will auto sync back down to your device roughly every 5 minutes if any changes are noted.
- You may have to click “Update Resources” if a bar pops up at the top when you open the app. If you click that close the form, and then reopen it. Your information should now be shown. Once shown it will always be there.
- If you have any problems with this process or getting your information to show please give us a call at 970-433-4098.
